The Delta State Executive Council has approved over ₦400 billion worth of construction and development projects aimed at improving transportation, public facilities, security and economic growth across the state.

The approved projects include the construction, reconstruction and rehabilitation of major roads, urban streets and access routes across several local government areas. Key works will focus on upgrading transport networks, improving connectivity between communities, supporting commercial activity and enhancing access to industrial and economic hubs.

Among the projects approved are the reconstruction of sections of the Warri Internal Ring Road, rehabilitation of the Trans-Warri Ode-Itsekiri Road, upgrades to key roads in Asaba, Sapele, Ughelli and Udu, as well as new road developments serving residential, commercial and riverine communities. The programme also includes erosion control works and the development of access roads to strategic locations such as the Kwale Free Trade Zone and Udu Harbour Market.

In addition to transport infrastructure, the council approved the construction of police facilities across the state, including a new base for the Nigeria Police Special Protection Unit and divisional headquarters in all 25 local government areas. Further approvals cover the construction of university hostels, judges’ residential quarters and other public buildings, alongside the renovation of courts and the completion of educational facilities.

The large-scale investment reflects the state government's commitment to strengthening infrastructure, supporting the construction sector and creating modern facilities that will drive long-term development and improve the quality of life for residents across Delta State.
