Kano State is fast-tracking its construction and development agenda with the approval of over ₦6.9 billion for major projects across the state. The funding is set to drive growth in roads, drainage, building, and community development initiatives, creating opportunities for construction companies, contractors, and suppliers.
Among the projects, over ₦859 million has been allocated as compensation for properties affected by a five-kilometre road construction project in Tudun Wada Local Government Area. Storm water drainage upgrades in Kano Municipal will receive ₦358.5 million, while ₦896 million is set aside to reconstruct a failed culvert in Kiru Local Government Area.
Road construction continues with ₦2.6 billion earmarked for the Yandodo-Mai-Allo Road, and ₦1.2 billion for a major box culvert project, both offering significant opportunities for contractors and engineering firms. Educational and community facilities are also receiving attention, with ₦285 million allocated for classroom construction and ₦431.7 million for an entrepreneurship graduation and empowerment programme that includes construction and facility development.
Kano State is also moving forward with key legislative measures, including bills on local government administration, economic planning, and education, which further support the construction sector through policy and planning frameworks.
These projects highlight the growing demand for construction expertise, materials, and services across the state.
